Simplicity is the final achievement.

Recently I've been on an exciting quest, an adventure of sorts, to recreate root music of my hometown Pine Ridge.  My purpose in this quest is to preserve the musical vibe and heritage of yesterday while intertwining that vibe with smooth grooves of  today.

Pine Ridge, once rich in untapped music creativity, is a small community on the east side of Florence, Alabama.  Florence is located in the northwest corner of the Alabama map and is a short 15 minute car drive from Muscles Shoals, Alabama.  Muscles Shoals has a rich history of being the RnB recording capitol of the South and the creation of the Muscle Shoals Sound.

This project is a labor of love filled with a passion I've long held near and dear.  Each song will tell a story of the people, places and events of Pine Ridge.

In the coming months, we will release a series of contemporary instrumentals that capture the essence of what it was like growing up surrounded by the music of Pine Ridge, whether it was listening to Billy Buford's gospel group rehearse Saturday afternoon on his front porch in preparation for Sunday's church performance, or, the mixture of music flowing from various backyard cookouts, or, the diversity of sound flowing from the radio of various households.  I intend to paint seasonal portraits through instrumental music that capture that time and season while musically integrating the personality of the people of a Pine Ridge long gone.
